- A couple of snaps at Kiwanis Skatepark -

Managed to find some time to shoot this weekend as we are rolling into this nice spring weather. It's been a while since I have really shot anything skateboarding related and this will be the start of many photos to come over this year. Spring and Summer are way better shooting months for me as I have a little more time off from work and the conditions outside aren't so hard on my gear.

Here are a few photos from Kiwanis Skatepark on Saturday:

- Lack of Updates -

First and foremost I apologize about the lack of updates, I have been putting in fulltime hours at work and in my spare time I am in school for photography; a pretty good recipe to eat up any spare time. With that being said I have a few things to update you with:

I have just purchased a nice and fast Nikon D2X to help with some of my shots in the winter time.

Also I will be posting many of the photos I am taking for my assignments on here so that you guys can see my progress and hopefully an increase in my photo taking abilities.

I am looking to purchase a couple more SB600's in the next couple of weeks as well to get ready for the winter snowboard shooting season, pretty stoked about that.

- New Len's = unreal -

Just scooped up a Nikkor 35mm f1.8, such an awesome lens. I was shooting with a 50mm before but this one feels so much cleaner in a lot of ways. Very excited to get out and shoot with it this weekend, hopefully the weather holds up. Below is a photo:

More photos coming soon, I've been really busy with work lately so expect some later this weekend.

- Checking in at the Barn Ramp -

So I finally got to shoot some decent photos for the first time in about 2 weeks, the weather on my days off have been absolutely horrible for shooting anything. So my buddies and I headed up to this barn ramp just out side of Byron to skate around, I rolled my ankle within the first 20 minutes of being there so at that point I decided it was time to start shooting.

The ambient lighting wasn't the best inside the barn so I brought 2 strobes into the equation to brighten and highlight the following photos:

Corey Shuker - Ollie to the moon and back.

Alex Hann - Airwalk

Daniel Rochon - Rock to Fakie

Daniel Rochon - Frontside Air

Corey Shuker - Planting Beans.

Alex Hann - Boneless

Expect lot's of photos from this location in the next little while especially if the weather keeps disagreeing with me.

Cheers

-Shoot with the Treehouse Kid -

I was at a rap event at one London's Downtown Cathy Browns this weekend, it was a cool venue with lot's of great local talent. The bar didn't offer much in terms of lighting, low ceilings and lot's of background distractions. But here is one of the shots that managed to turn out. Below is a photo of Seth Love from The Treehouse kids, unfortunately the rest of his band couldn't make it so he did a solo act, but amazing nether the less.

- Shoot with Colin Woods -

Just Finished going over the photos from last nights photo shoot with Colin Woods. We ended up getting out pretty late and had about 10 minutes of day light left before things went black. I made the best of the situation for having no ambient light to work with, pretty happy with the results.
